The Surf
Levanto is located on one of the most characteristic stretches of coast of the entire Ligurian Sea, the one between the Cinque Terre and the border with the province of Genoa. The sustained winds of the area are ideal for those who love windsurfing, surfing and bodyboarding. From ten years until today, the fame of Levanto's waves has only grown. Countless articles have appeared in specialized magazines in the sector with testimonials from famous surfers, not only Italians, who praised the conditions found in Levanto: unique conditions in Italy defined as Double Over Head, i.e. waves that exceed double the height of a person. These conditions occur following a strong wind that enters the gulf of Levanto bringing waves that can reach up to 4 meters in the winter season. For these reasons Levanto has become in recent years an undisputed destination for wave surfing in Northern Italy.
